When can my tree grow?

Every real day adds a year to your tree, at about four minutes of real time per simulated day. Tap Progress whenever you look in: it catches up on the time since your last visit, up to one year at a time. Time beyond a year isn't added later, so looking in about once a day lets your tree grow the most.

How many trees can I grow?

Two at a time. When one has died, it stays in your list as a memory, and you can plant another; you can also remove a growing tree to make room. Memories never count, and are always kept.

What happens when my tree dies?

It stays in your list as a memory, with the day and the cause, and its picture stays as it was on that day. You can plant a new tree at any time, and remove a dead one from your list when you like.

Where are my trees kept?

Only on your iPhone. They're part of your iPhone's backup, in iCloud Backup or on your computer, so a restored iPhone brings them back. They don't sync between devices. Deleting the app deletes your trees.

Does the app go online?

Only to show the map of your tree's place, which comes from Apple Maps. Everything else works offline. The app collects no data; see the privacy policy.

Accessibility

Tree Years works with VoiceOver, Voice Control, larger text, dark mode, increased contrast and reduced motion, and doesn't rely on colour alone. If something doesn't work for you, please write: it's a bug.
