Tree Years

Plant a tree, look in once a day, and watch it grow for years: through dry summers, late frosts and long winters.

One day, one year

Every real day is a year in your tree's life. When you look in, the year since your last visit plays out: leaves come and fall, roots reach for water, the trunk grows a ring.

A tree that lives

Your tree needs water and makes sugar from light. A dry summer sheds its leaves, a late frost burns the new ones, and a storm can break a limb. Look below the ground in the X-ray soil view to see its roots, the water in the soil, and the sugar it stores for spring. One day it dies, and stays in your list as a memory.

Two ways to see it

Paint it in soft light, or as 16-bit pixel art. The app's icon can follow.

Made for everyone

VoiceOver describes every part of the tree, from the crown to the soil, and says what changed after each visit. The app follows larger text, dark mode, increased contrast and reduced motion, and never relies on colour alone.
